Originally designed in 1947 for a competition organized by the Museum of Modern Art, Charles and Ray Eames’ Dot Pattern is a lasting example of their contributions to modern visual design. The duo never used the Dot Pattern as a fabric in their lifetime. In 1999 Lucia Eames worked with Maharam Design Studio to translate their original vision — one inspired by the skeletal frame supporting the Eames Molded Plywood Dining Chair Metal Base — and turned it into a textile design. The Small Dot Pattern Pillow features the same pattern as the Dot Pattern Pillow, in a lesser scale and closer knit.
